Jordyn Lamoureux

Since I was little, I have always tried to go out of my way to help others, so working as an academic peer mentor just came naturally to me.

Whether she's competing with ENACTUS, supporting students as an academic peer mentor, or volunteering in the community as a member of Women of Color, Jordyn Lamoureux's passion for helping others burns brightly at Briar Cliff.

Inside and outside the classroom, Jordyn is using her time at Briar Cliff to be as involved as possible. She's double majoring in business administration and accounting and minoring in social media marketing with the goal of working towards becoming a Certified Public Accountant after graduation in addition to her work with Women of Color, ENACTUS and academic peer mentors.

As an academic peer mentor, Jordyn helps students develop effective study skills like note taking, time management, and organization. Helping people succeed has been a passion in her life since she was a child, says Jordyn. "Since I was little, I have always tried to go out of my way to help others, so working as an academic peer mentor just came naturally to me."

Her work with ENACTUS combined her drive to serve others with her business education. One of their projects allowed them to establish relationships with members of the Winnebago Tribe near Sioux City and help tribal members start and grow their businesses.

"I really enjoy working with the Winnebago community. It's great to know that we are helping others," she said.

Jordyn also serves as the project lead for Entrepalooza, a two-week event that features opportunities for entrepreneurs to network and showcase their work. Jordyn helps set up Swimming with the Sharks, a Shark Tank spinoff, and contacts keynote speakers from the community to share their experiences and advice with budding entrepreneurs. She says she loves being able to help people take the next step in running their business.

In her free time, Jordyn likes to support her brother, a Charger golfer, at his tournaments, and hang out with friends and family. After graduating, she plans to keep volunteering and serving those in need in her community.
