July 2, 2018

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Briar Cliff University raised $18,306 at its annual “Lunch with the Chargers” event on February 2 at M’s on 4th Restaurant. All proceeds went directly to the student scholarship fund at BCU.

Over the course of three separate seating sessions, more than 170 participants were served lunch by Briar Cliff student-athletes, coaches and administrators.

“We’d like to thank our guests, student-athletes, coaches, and M’s on 4th Restaurant for their support of this year's event,” said Tina Stroud, vice president for university relations at Briar Cliff. “’Lunch with the Chargers’ is an opportunity to bring the Briar Cliff community together to celebrate the impact our benefactors have in helping our students achieve their dreams of a Briar Cliff education."

This year’s “Lunch with the Chargers” was part of a three-day “Alumni Weekend” at Briar Cliff, which also included the induction of baseball coach Dan McDermott, football player Jarrod Makovicka ’09 and men’s track team member Sam Acheampong ‘12 to the Charger Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday, February 3.

If you missed “Lunch with the Chargers,” you can still support the student scholarship fund online.
