Briar Cliff University and CNOS Fieldhouse Announce New Partnership Agreement

September 22, 2026

(Sioux City, Iowa – September 22, 2026) Briar Cliff University (BCU) and CNOS Fieldhouse representatives announce a new partnership that will give the University dedicated access to one of the region’s premier multi-sport training facilities. Under a new lease agreement that began on August 1, Briar Cliff will utilize one-third of the Fieldhouse space to support University needs, including athletic practices, camps, and academic purposes.

The agreement expands practice and training options for several BCU athletic programs. Volleyball, basketball, track and field, golf, and other Charger programs have already begun planning how to strengthen practice-time options and grow youth camp offerings at the facility, building on the University’s commitment to developing a love of the game throughout Siouxland.

Briar Cliff students will also play an active role in supporting Fieldhouse operations, including officiating and general event support, giving students hands-on experience while strengthening the facility’s day-to-day operations.

“This partnership with the Fieldhouse gives our student-athletes and coaches access to some of the finest training space in the region, right here in Siouxland,” said Dr. Matthew Draud, President of Briar Cliff University. “It also opens the door for our students to gain real, hands-on experience supporting the Fieldhouse’s operations, for our athletic programs to expand what we offer local youth through camps and clinics, and for all of our students to have greater access to the resources that support their success.”

The partnership is equally welcomed by Siouxland Sports Academy, the nonprofit organization that operates the Fieldhouse and supports youth athletic programs throughout the region.

“We’ve watched Briar Cliff’s athletic programs grow over the years, and we’re proud to open our doors to their teams,” said Doug Skinner, a member of the Siouxland Sports Academy Board of Directors. “This partnership benefits everyone. BCU gains dedicated space for practices, camps, and academic programming, and our facility benefits from the energy, talent, and involvement of Briar Cliff students and student-athletes. We look forward to a strong, long-term relationship with the University.”

Charger teams have already begun using the space, and a Team USA Handball Clinic was one of the first events featured under the new agreement. Leaders across campus continue to work through practice schedules and future youth camp offerings for the year ahead.
