Assistant Professor of Sports Information
Tenure-Track | Teach Undergraduate Courses | Advising
Briar Cliff University, an institution committed to higher education within a liberal arts and Catholic perspective, invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor in Sports Information to start in August of 2024. The duties of this position comprise a 24-hour teaching load for the academic year in addition to advising undergraduate sports information majors and service to the University.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teaching undergraduate courses in sports information and media communications, potentially including sports promotion, photography, social media, sports journalism, sports media production, etc.
- Develop course offerings, initiatives, and programs, focusing on sports media; as well as participate and lead collaborations with internal and external stakeholders in the regional sports media industry.
- Teach undergraduate students.
- Conduct and publish research or creative work regularly.
- Provide service to the department, university, and profession.
- Other assigned duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidates with a master’s degree with proven experience in Sports Information/Promotions will be considered.
- Preferred candidates will have earned (or nearly completed) a terminal degree (Ph.D. or MFA) in Sports Information/Promotions or in a closely related field.
