Assistant Professor of Social Work
Briar Cliff University, an institution committed to higher education within a liberal arts and Catholic perspective, invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor in Social Work to start in August of 2024.
Key Responsibilities:
This position teaches full-time over a 9-month academic year. Primary responsibilities include teaching across the social work curriculum. This includes the BSW foundational level courses, as courses in the candidate’s areas of professional expertise in clinical practice or management and community development. Additional responsibilities include academic advising, student mentoring, department and university service, professional activity and community engagement.
Requirements:
Candidates must possess an MSW with at least three years’ post-graduate professional experience. A doctorate in social work or related field and prior undergraduate teaching experience is highly desirable. Experience with online education is preferred. Preference will also be given to a candidate with experience in teaching a variety of social work courses. Promise of continued scholarly activity and support for the mission of the University and its liberal arts tradition are required. A licensed or license-eligible clinical social worker is required. A record of successful work with diverse populations and individuals, or institutions and social settings is preferred.
