Teach Courses in Chemistry, Biochemistry, and More | Ability to Direct Student-Driven Research

Briar Cliff University, an institution committed to higher education within a liberal arts and Catholic perspective, invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor in Biochemistry to start in August 2024. Candidates will have earned (or nearly completed) a Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, or a closely related field. The duties include a 24-hour teaching load for the academic year in addition to advising majors and service to the university. Anticipated teaching responsibilities include introductory chemistry classes, Biochemistry I and II, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, and one or more courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. The ability and willingness to direct student-driven research is desired. Successful candidates will also demonstrate a commitment to high-impact teaching practices in a Catholic and Franciscan university.
