Assistant Men's Basketball Coach 

The assistant men’s basketball coach is responsible for assisting in the direction of all phases of a nationally competitive NAIA basketball program, within the rules and regulations of Briar Cliff University, Great Plains Athletic Conference, and the NAIA. 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Identifying and recruiting qualified student-athletes
  •  On-floor coaching in team practices
  • In-game coaching
  • Player developmentTravel Coordination
  • Opponent Scouting and Game Planning
  • Development and implementation of BC Basketball Social Media plan
  • Coordinate all game film uploads and downloads
  • Junior Varsity game scheduling
  • Monitor academics of Men’s Basketball players
  • Represent the men’s basketball program and Briar Cliff University in a positive manner at all times

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
  • 2 years collegiate coaching experience preferred
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of computer applications (Microsoft Office and Synergy)
  • Ability to work irregular hours including nights and weekends

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10-25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
