Wildlife Encounters of Nebraska Draws Community to Briar Cliff

February 21, 2026

Briar Cliff University welcomed families, students, and community members to the St. Francis Center on Saturday, February 21, for an engaging and educational presentation from Wildlife Encounters of Nebraska.

Guests took a journey across the globe as presenters introduced live animals and explored the unique habitats they call home. From fascinating adaptations to conservation efforts, attendees learned how wildlife survives and thrives in diverse environments — all while experiencing the excitement of seeing these animals up close.

The event was made possible through the generous sponsorship of the Woodbury County Conservation Foundation, whose annual meeting was held prior to the program and was open to the public. The Foundation’s continued partnership helps make hands-on, educational programming like this accessible to the Siouxland community.

Briar Cliff was also proud to collaborate with the Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center in bringing this widely popular program back to Sioux City.

With attendees filling the St. Francis Center, including Briar Cliff students, local families, and nature enthusiasts, the afternoon highlighted the power of community partnerships and experiential learning. Events like this reflect Briar Cliff’s commitment to creating opportunities that educate, inspire, and connect both campus and community.
