Team USA Handball Clinic
Briar Cliff University is proud to host the Team USA Handball Clinic on August 6th at the CNOS Fieldhouse, welcoming the U.S. National Team to Sioux City for a free, hands-on clinic led by USA Coach Ortega and the Team USA Handball roster.
The day kicks off with a live Team USA practice at 9:00 AM, giving fans a front-row look at national-team-level training. Then the athletes take the court to teach:
Handball is one of the best-kept secrets in cross-training — a fast-paced blend of the skills athletes already love. If you play soccer, basketball, baseball, softball, or football, you already have a head start: the footwork of soccer, the court awareness of basketball, the throwing mechanics of baseball and softball, and the physicality of football all translate directly onto the handball court. It's a great way for multi-sport athletes to stay sharp in the off-season, pick up a new skill, and train alongside Olympic-caliber athletes and coaches.
This clinic is open to boys and girls, men and women, of all skill levels — whether you've never touched a handball or you're looking to add a new sport to your rotation.
The event is completely free, and free t-shirts will be available to participants while supplies last.
