Self Care for Caring Professionals
Jenn Pedersen is a bereavement coordinator and chaplain with Hospice of the Midwest in central Iowa where she works with individuals to help them process the grief they are experiencing as the result of loss in their lives. She meets with bereaved individuals to offer support individually, conducts support groups, and provides grief support and self-care education to the staff she works alongside. Prior to her work with hospice, she has a twenty-five-year background as a lay and vocational minister in various roles and faith backgrounds.
She has a passion to help people explore the deep things of life and find joy and fulfillment in the midst of the inevitable challenges life presents. She has a bachelor's degree in music performance from Iowa State University, a master's degree in theological studies from the University of Northwestern, St. Paul, and is working toward a master's in clinical mental health counseling at Drake University.
