Charger Orientation is an important, one-day event that is required for all first-time freshmen at Briar Cliff. Register for classes, meet new friends, and discover how BCU is a supportive and caring community!
We encourage incoming students to sign up for ANY orientation date. However, we do acknowledge out-of-state travel plans may not always be accommodating to these dates. For your convenience, we've put our orientation and move-in dates below.
PLEASE NOTE: Some days are based upon athlete move-ins.
Charger Orientation dates:
Friday, August 14th: Football/ Men's & Women's Soccer/ Women's Volleyball
Practice start August 15th
Friday, August 21st: Cross Country/ Men's & Women's Golf/ Cheer & Dance/ First-Time Freshmen
Charger Weekend starts on Friday evening at 4:45 p.m.
Sunday, August 23rd: Returning Students
Move in will start at 8 a.m. along with the Validation checklist process (IDs, Compass navigation meeting, complete missing forms, parking sticker, etc.)
What you'll do at Charger Orientation
- Get your official University ID.
- Register for fall classes.
- Review your financial aid award.
- Learn about campus resources.
- Get to know other students.
- Have fun!
Parents & Families
There will be special information sessions for parents, guardians and other family members, so they get the chance to know Briar Cliff, too. Be sure to include their names on the Charger Orientation RSVP form.
Staying Overnight *not available due to COVID-19
Arrive the night before Charger Orientation and stay overnight in one of our residence halls. Just check the “stay overnight” option on the Charger Orientation RSVP form.
Parents and family members are asked to find lodging off campus. They can stay at one of our recommended hotels in Sioux City (mention BCU to get the discount price!).
