Maria Cancino - Coordinator for Academic Navigation

She specializes in working with students that are in academic crisis, coordinating and managing the Academic Peer Mentor program, and monitoring all student alerts in Starfish to ensure that everyone has received outreach. She works closely with faculty on individual student issues, as well as coordinates the partnership between athletic coaches and the Academic Peer Mentors’ (APMs) service to their teams. She also supports both men’s and women’s volleyball, wrestling, golf and all students not affiliated with a sport.

Erin oversees academic advising for first-year students as well as the first-year seminar course. We love visitors! Alicia Harper is the Assistant Director of New Student Navigation. Alicia specializes in working with first-year students to support their successful transition from high school to college. She also advises students majoring in Business Administration and Sport Management. Alicia is the coordinator for CORE 101 (Franciscan Experience), where she coordinates instructors, sections, themes, and partners with non-profit organizations in the Siouxland area to ensure all service-learning activities. Alicia oversees mentoring and leadership, focusing on helping students that want to get more involved-on campus as leaders and mentors. Alicia also supervises PALS (Peer Advising Leaders), which are a group of student leaders focused on helping incoming students navigate the college campus. dropping by the office.
