SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Briar Cliff University Enactus team competed in the semifinals of the 2019 Enactus United States National Exposition, ranking among the top 16 teams in the nation.
The Enactus U.S. National Exposition took place May 5 through 7 in Kansas City, MO. The event is a cross-generational leadership experience for students, academics and business leaders and includes a national competition where Enactus student teams showcase how they are transforming lives and enabling progress through entrepreneurial action. Currently, there are 404 Enactus teams in the United States.
Briar Cliff University team projects included Zidisha in Tanzania, Africa, Connect20 in Winnebago, NE, and Entrepalooza in Siouxland. In addition to competing in the semifinals, the Briar Cliff team won the Excellence in Innovation Award for its Zidisha project. In this project, the team helped lift ten women in Mbuguni, Tanzania out of extreme poverty.
The presentation team consisted of Jordyn Lamoureux from Sloan, IA; Luis Hernandez from Sioux City, IA; Aedan Hickey, from Ida Grove, IA; Tyler Krajewski from Papillion, NE; Liam Mangan from Omaha, NE; Erik Jan Ingenluijff from Bogota, Colombia; Eduardo Valencia from Quito, Ecuador; and Arianna Presilla from Miami, FL.
