Briar Cliff welcomes leading scholar on United States, Cuba relations

Sioux City, Iowa -- Briar Cliff University will welcome United States-Cuba relations expert Dr. Ernesto Dominguez Lopez to its campus for a lecture on Sunday, December 3 at 7 pm in Meis Recital Hall. The lecture will focus on United States-Cuba relations and comparative studies of American and Cuban political systems.

Dominguez Lopez works at the Center for Hemispheric and United States Studies at the University of Havana where he serves as the chair of the Group for United States Studies and ranking member of the Group for the Study of Cuba-US relations. In addition, he is a Tinker visiting professor endowed by the Edward Larocque Tinker Foundation at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin.

An accomplished author, Dominguez Lopez has published over 30 articles and essays in various academic journals and authored two books. He is a frequent lecturer in universities across the country including Columbia University, Princeton University, Stanford University and Loyola University among others.

The December 3 lecture is free and open to the public.
