Briar Cliff hosts Constitution Day speaker

Sioux City, IA – The Briar Cliff University History Department is hosting guest speaker Kyle Irvin for Constitution Day on September 17 at 3 p.m. in Heelan Hall. Constitution Day observes the day the formation and signing of the United States Constitution was ratified in 1787.

Irvin will present “Legitimacy and Majority in the U.S. Supreme Court” and give an overview of the historical currents impacting the concept of judicial review at the Supreme Court.

Irvin has been a practicing attorney for 15 years in Sioux City and serves as an adjunct for the history and political science departments at Briar Cliff. He is a member of the Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota State Bar Association and serves on the Board of Directors for the Iowa Academy of Trust and Estate Council (IATEC).
