Social Work professor publishes book chapter

Sioux City, Iowa - Briar Cliff assistant professor of social work Sara Staver has recently published a chapter in the book, Days in the Lives of Social Workers: 62 Professionals Tell “Real-Life” Stories From Social Work Practice (5th edition).

Days in the Lives of Social Workers allows readers to take a firsthand look at the real-life days of 62 professional social workers as they share their stories. Staver’s chapter entitled “Hope Dealer: Social Work and the Opioid Crisis” illustrates what she believes the profession of addiction should embody.

Staver earned her Bachelor of Social Work from Buena Vista University then went on to receive her Master of Social Work form the University of Iowa. She also holds a certification for Drug and Alcohol Counseling in Iowa.
