Briar Cliff to host award winning fiction writer

Sioux City, Iowa – Briar Cliff University will host a special reading of It Turns Out Like This by author Stephen Coyne on Wednesday, September 20 at 7 pm in Meis Recital Hall on Briar Cliff's campus. The public is encouraged to attend.

Coyne is a creative writing and American Literature professor. He received a bachelor's degree from Catawba College, a master's from the University of North Carolina, and PhD from the University of Denver.

Coyne's writing has been featured in literary journals such as The New England Review, The North American Review, and Prairie Schooner. He has received numerous awards for his fiction work and poetry including a Roberts Writing Award, the Heartland Fiction Prize, and the Prairie Schooner Reader's Choice Award.

The September 20 reading is sponsored by the English Department at Briar Cliff.
