SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Briar Cliff University is pleased to announce four recipients of the full-tuition Presidential Scholarship, the highest scholarship awarded by Briar Cliff to incoming first-year students.
The 2017-2018 Briar Cliff Presidential Scholars, all of whom are graduating from high school this spring, are Anna Betz, Bishop Heelan Catholic High School, daughter of Tom and Julie Betz of Sioux City, Iowa.; Grace Bybee, Duschesne Academy of the Sacred Heart, daughter of Tom and Kym Bybee of Omaha, Neb.; Megan O’Gara, Bishop Heelan Catholic High School, daughter of Michael and Marie O’Gara of S. Sioux City, Neb.; and Nicole Raner, Sioux Central High School, daughter of Michael and Lisa Raner of Webb, Iowa.
“Our Presidential Scholars are talented individuals who will bring outstanding scholastic and leadership abilities to the Briar Cliff campus,” said Brian Eben, vice president for enrollment management at BCU. “We look forward to having these students join our Briar Cliff community.”
The BCU Presidential Scholars were announced following a competitive application process, including interviews with Briar Cliff administrators. High school seniors who apply for BCU’s Presidential Scholarships must have a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better and an ACT score of 26 or higher. Award criteria also include church, school and community leadership roles. Presidential Scholarships can be renewed annually for up to four years.
