Don’t just speak the language. Understand the culture.
"The Spanish for Health Care Professionals course has given me a solid foundation for the understanding and implementation of the Spanish language into my practice. Communication is the most important aspect in providing care for a person. Understanding someone in his or her own language allows for a more thorough practice and improves on building the provider-patient relationship. Spanish for Health Care Professionals has given me an understanding and access to tools allowing me to improve communication in Spanish while continuing my work and family obligations.” - Chris Jacobs, nurse practitioner at Siouxland Community Health Center
These courses are offered to undergraduate and graduate students or health care providers looking to enhance their cultural competence. This series of classes will teach you to deliver care in a manner that meets the social, cultural and linguistic needs of your Spanish speaking patient population.
