Biology Minor

Degree Type: Primary or Secondary Minor
The minor in biology is designed to develop students’ comprehension of the scientific method and the application of this method to investigations in biology. This minor will provide valuable skills in a variety of fields including agriculture, medicine, nutrition, health care, physical therapy and teaching.

BIOL 151 - General Biology I
This course is an introduction to cellular biology. Topics covered include the scientific method, structure and function of cell, genetics and molecules of life. Three lectures, one lab per week. Read more »

This course in an introduction to organismal biology. Topics covered include the scientific method, ecology, evolution and the diversity of life forms. Three lectures, one lab per week. Read more »
Additional Program Requirements
The biology minor requires 23 credit hours with a BIOL prefix, discounting BIOL 102, which does not count toward the minor.
