Graduation Checklist & Deadlines

Seniors, make sure you have completed the following steps, in order to be eligible to walk the stage at this year's commencement ceremony. If you have any questions, contact the registrar's office.

1. Apply to Graduate →
The deadline to apply to graduate is Feb. 1. You may need to meet with your advisor to make sure you've met all graduation requirements and declared a major.

2. Pick up graduation announcements →
Each student gets 10 free graduation announcements, available starting April 1 at the Briar Cliff bookstore. Additional announcements may be purchased there.

3. Pay off your student account →
The deadline for final payments on your account is April 1. For more information, contact the business office.

4. Complete your financial aid exit interview online →
The financial aid exit counseling is an online process that you need to complete if you received a federal student loan to attend Briar Cliff. It provides important information you need to prepare to repay your loan(s). If you need help, contact the Office of Financial Aid.

5. Register for summer classes (if needed) →
If you need summer classes to finish up your degree, you must register by April 30. One-third of your summer tuition must also be paid before commencement. Contact the registrar's office for more information.

6. Reserve your graduation DVD copy →
Pre-order your DVD copy (or copies) of the 2017 commencement ceremony online, and you won't have to fight the crowd on graduation day. Price is $20 per copy (that includes shipping).

7. Pick up your cap and gown →
Your graduation cap and gown will be available for pickup on May 15 at the BCU bookstore. Don’t worry — it will be ironed and wrinkle-free!
