Assistant Director of Advancement

SUMMARY: The Assistant Director of Advancement is a part of a team whose primary responsibility is the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of individual and corporate partners. This position will develop and execute strategy to increase the annual/leadership annual giving donor relationship pipeline, with an intentional focus of increasing participation, donor retention, and donor acquisition. They will plan and execute strategic outreach efforts. The role will also be responsible for engaging community partners to secure sponsorships and in-kind gifts. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Implement a strategic plan for increased giving.
• Collaborate with Marketing & Communications to create and produce collateral materials in support of giving initiatives.
• Develop community partnership opportunities, including in-kind giving and events.
• Find creative opportunities to partner with community businesses or non-profits to raise the profile of BCU
• Identify and cultivate a portfolio of prospects and donors with capacity to make substantial gifts, creating a pipeline of future major gift donors.
• Establish fundraising goals and priorities based on department objectives, designs strategies to meet those goals, and monitors progress against goals.
• Other duties as assigned by the Vice President for University Advancement. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, or related field.
• Fundraising experience is preferred.  
• Some travel is required.  
• Some evening and weekend work required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Directly supervises GA’s and work study students as needed.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
