Briar Cliff University History professor recently published a chapter in the book entitled “Firsting in the Early-Modern Atlantic World.”
His chapter entitled “John Dee, Humphrey Gilbert, and Richard Hakluyt’s Erasure of Native Americans” focuses on early colonization and the three men who set the precedent for other English colonists to settle in the New England area. The book is included in the series “Routledge Research in Early Modern History.”
Probasco teaches World History, European History and the Age of Discovery at Briar Cliff. He has published other articles on colonization for a variety of publications including, Studies in Travel Writing and Renaissance Quarterly.
