Software Developer
Briar Cliff University is seeking a Software Developer/Administrator.
The
successful candidate's resume should include at
least 2 years programming experience preferably in .NET, some database
administration experience preferably in Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008,
knowledge of T-SQL, and some experience
administrating/implementing/supporting mission critical software such as
ERP or LMS systems. Prior experience with Datatel Colleague and Angel
LMS are a plus.
Our candidates must possess good team skills, good organizational and
time management skills, be able to handle and prioritize multiple
projects, and be able to work under pressure. Critical thinking skills
are a must. All candidates
must have a strong customer service orientation and a set of solid
interpersonal and communications skills, both oral and written.

Faculty Openings
Chair
of the Division of Education
The
division chair is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the
division and facilitating communication within the division and with
appropriate persons outside the division.
The chair should delegate duties as appropriate for the
effective functioning of the division.
It should not be expected that the division chair will do all the
work of the division, but rather will bear the responsibility to see
that the work is done.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following.

Provide strategic leadership on academic programs within the
division, including new program development, and student recruitment
and retention
-
Ensure the implementation of divisional action plans based on the
university strategic plan
-
Communicate and collaborate within the division, among programs, and
with the vice president
-
Prepare and oversee budgets for division
-
Collaborate on determining faculty loads, committee work, technology
usage, assessment implementation, and general education
-
Coordinate course schedules within the division and collaborate
across divisions in preparing the master course schedule
-
Prepare and deliver yearly reports on the division and programs
-
Assist with divisional responses for accreditation and external
reporting requirements
-
Implement professional development opportunities for divisional
faculty
-
Mentor new faculty members and monitor their needs
-
Confront dysfunctional behaviors
within the unit
-
Identify fundraising opportunities
for the division and collaborate with the institutional advancement
area in securing external funding
-
Provide divisional leadership for
building relationships with alumni and external benefactors
-
Assure that the academic curriculum
is aligned with the university’s mission, values, and strategic plan
-
Coordinate the recruitment, hiring,
and evaluation of new faculty members within the division
-
Recommend faculty members for rank,
tenure, hiring, renewal, non-renewal, and dismissal.
