SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Briar Cliff University has been named one of the nation’s top “Military Friendly Schools” for 2014, according to Victory Media, the premier media entity for military personnel transitioning into civilian life.
The distinction honors top U.S. colleges, universities and trade schools that are doing the most to embrace America’s military service members, veterans and spouses as students and ensure their success on campus.
"Briar Cliff University holds military students and their families in high esteem and we are very grateful for their service to our country," said Beverly A. Wharton, BCU president. "We are extremely honored to be among the nation’s top military friendly institutions."
BCU is committed to helping U.S. military experience success in a number of ways, including participating in the Yellow Ribbon Program, which makes additional education funds available for qualified service members to continue their education.
The 2014 list of Military Friendly Schools® was compiled through extensive research and a data-driven survey of more than 10,000 schools nationwide approved for VA tuition funding. Victory Media is a veteran-owned small business that has been serving the military community since 2001.
Briar Cliff University is a Catholic institution with an enrollment of more than 1,100 students from 31 states and nine countries. Students are educated in the Franciscan tradition of excellence in the liberal arts and career preparation in an environment of care, compassion and service.
