Bishop Mueller Library

In addition to a robust collection of traditional academic and entertaining books, the Bishop Mueller Library offers many services to students such as academic resources, computer labs, and research mentors. Students can contact the library by phone, email, and chat to receive one-on-one help from research mentors and librarians, who are experts at doing research. The Library also houses the TRIO/Student Support Services (SSS) offices and a computer lab.

 Academic Resources

The Bishop Mueller Library is made up of over 50,000 monographs, 250,000 premium eBooks, millions of journal articles, and so much more! In addition to checking these items out, you can also choose to scan the information you need and email it to yourself using the scanning machines.

Along with books and articles, the library also has a large selection of popular DVDs and Blu Rays you can check out for a movie night with friends. All these resources are available to all students at any time.

 Computer Labs

Located on the top floor, students have access to a computer lab. Up to 19 students can access the lab.

Printing resources and printing assistance from library staff are also available to students. Be sure to ask about poster printing while you’re there!

Digital Media Creation Studio

The studio is located on the first floor of the library. Everyone can use the studio to create videos or audio content using professional video and audio equipment. There is even a green screen!

New to creating videos? It’s easy to use the one-button option to record a video presentation. For those with more experience, there are advanced editing tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite and a sound mixer.

This project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, Grant # APP-246104-OLS-20.

Technology Checkout

The Bishop Mueller Library offers a wide variety of technology to check out for academic and entertainment purposes. Laptops, projectors, digital cameras, iPads, HDMI cables, and more are all available to check out. Want to try something new? Try checking out the Virtual Reality Smartphone Headset, Oculus Go, or Oculus Quest.

All you need is your student ID to check out any of these items.

Charger Cupboard and Food Pantry

In an effort to support students who struggle with food insecurities or lack the financial ability to purchase food or personal items, Briar Cliff University has established the Charger Cupboard. This Charger Cupboard is an on-campus food pantry that provides non-perishable foods and personal care items to students in need.

We're appreciative of the support we have received from our caring community that enables us to continue this essential campus service. Please consider donating items or funds. Funds donated will be used to support the purchase of nonperishable foods and personal care items for the students on campus and as a stipend for one staff member to maintain inventory, purchase and pick up the merchandise, and to run the Cupboard with scheduled distribution days.
