The information above (except as noted for transcript requests) is student directory information and may be released without the student's consent. Students may file a request to prevent the release of their student directory information. This written request must be filed by the third week of school, either at Validation Day (at the Registrar’s table) or by visiting the Office of the Registrar. Directory information includes information that can be publicly released without needing to seek the student’s consent. Information considered to be directory information at Briar Cliff University: name, address, telephone listing, electronic mail address, photograph, date and place of birth, major field of study, dates of attendance, grade level, enrollment status (e.g., undergraduate or graduate student, full-time or part-time), participation in officially recognized activities and sports, weight and height of members of athletic teams, degrees, honors and awards received. Those students who have requested not to release their student directory information must authorize any of the above verifications in writing.
