Jeff Baldus

Sioux City, IA - Jeff Baldus, associate professor of art at Briar Cliff University, has received a $10,000 from the Iowa Arts Council, a division of the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs. The grant funds will support the casting of several sculptures in bronze that will be part of his upcoming exhibition titled Of Sticks and Stones.

The Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs empowers Iowa to build and sustain culturally vibrant communities by connecting Iowans to the people, places and points of pride that define our state.

"I am honored to receive the grant from the Iowa Arts Council and am very grateful to all those who made it possible including those who recognize the value of the Iowa Arts Council in our state and support it through continued funding," Baldus said.

Baldus teaches a variety of art classes at Briar Cliff University including art studio, art history, and pottery. Of Sticks and Stones will be on display at the Sioux City Art Center beginning in May.
