SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The silver anniversary celebration of The Briar Cliff Review, Briar Cliff University’s award-winning literary arts magazine, will be marked with “Celebrating 25 Years of Literary Excellence,” an art exhibit, reading and reception from 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. on Friday, Sept 27, 2013, in the Clausen Art Gallery on campus.
At the event, there will be an exhibit of original works of cover art down through the years – on display through Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, – and a reading of select excerpts of fiction, non-fiction and poetry published in past issues of The Review. This free event is open to the public.
“In 25 short years, The Briar Cliff Review has gone through a remarkable transformation from a small in-house publication to an esteemed review of literary and artistic works revered nationally and internationally,” said the publication’s editor and Briar Cliff English/writing professor, Tricia Currans-Sheehan, Ph.D. “Many writers and artists who were first published in The Review have emerged as influential figures in the literary and art world.”
