Kinesiology & Human Performance

Kinesiology is evolving. So can you.

The field of exercise science changes every day. Health organizations — from fitness centers to athletic departments to hospital wellness programs — are searching for professionals who can keep up. Do you have what it takes? We think so. And we can help you get the graduate-level credentials in kinesiology and human performance to prove it!

Specialize your degree.

Make sure your degree in kinesiology and human performance is tailor-made to fit your needs. Choose between two degree programs at BCU:

  • Master of Arts (M.A.): If you’re looking to advance your degree as a teacher, personal trainer, or athletic or strength and conditioning coach, this option is geared toward you.
  • Master of Science (M.S.): If you plan to move on to a clinical career, this degree option places an emphasis on clinical experience that will prepare you for graduate work at the doctoral level.

Gain hands-on experience.

Our program infuses teaching, coaching and research-based concepts that are more “hands on” than theoretical. You’ll gain a graduate-level understanding of the bio-scientific study of human movement and its role toward improving functionality for all individuals.

Project or thesis?

You decide. There are two capstone options to complete our master's program — either defend a graduate thesis, or complete a service project or graduate internship that fuses exercise science concepts with Briar Cliff’s mission of service and community outreach.
