Erin Vogel

Biography

Dr. Erin Vogel, PT, DPT, OCS has been employed as an Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy at Briar Cliff University since May 2019. She is currently involved in teaching Musculoskeletal Physical Therapy and will be assisting with various courses throughout the curriculum including being a clinical instructor for the pro bono clinic and research advisor for students. She serves the university as a committee member of the faculty search committee as well as on the admissions committee for Briar Cliff Physical Therapy Program.

Dr. Vogel has 10 years as a clinical Physical Therapist and has practiced in a rural general critical access hospital and has clinical experience with outpatient, skilled and acute inpatient, home health, and nursing home patients. She received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of South Dakota in 2009 and her Orthopedic Certified Specialization in 2017. She is a licensed physical therapist in South Dakota and Iowa. She has been an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and South Dakota Physical Therapy Association (SDPTA) member since 2006 and currently holds the position of Secretary and is an Executive Board member of the SDPTA. Dr. Vogel Dr. Vogel’s clinical areas of focus include orthopedics, vestibular rehab, and wound care.

Dr. Vogel has been a clinical instructor since 2010 and has been certified as a Credentialed Clinical Instructor through the APTA. From this, she was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor in the Physical Therapy Program at the University of South Dakota. She has supplemented her clinical career with positions as adjunct faculty for the University of South Dakota and Briar Cliff University and has presented to her local community and academic pre-professionals on various topics in Physical Therapy.
