Dr. Beidler joined the faculty at Briar Cliff University in the fall of 2014. She has held a variety of positions as a nurse clinician, educator and/or researcher for more than 35 years.
Dr. Beidler’s practice and research focus has been on vulnerable populations. Much of her career has been developing advanced practice nursing models of care for vulnerable populations across the lifespan. She has held specialty certifications in rehabilitation nursing, diabetes education, as a family nurse practitioner, and most recently as an advanced certified hospice and palliative care nurse.
She served as the director of the national Nursing Centers Research Network and served on the steering committee for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) Practice Based Research Network (PBRN). As a nurse ethicist, she has served on the Institutional Review Board for the West Palm Beach VA hospital and ethics committees for the Nebraska Medical Center and Temple University Hospital. She has held academic positions at Albright College, the University of Pennsylvania, Florida Atlantic University and University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Dr. Beidler is a life-long member of the American Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau International, and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
