Beth M. Grigsby, Class of ’95, has served as Vice President for Finance and Treasurer at Briar Cliff University since 2009. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Briar Cliff College (now University) and is a certified public accountant. She came to Briar Cliff University from Henjes, Conner, & Williams, P. C., a local public accounting firm. She started with HCW as a staff accountant in 1995 and had been a shareholder for three years when she departed.
As Vice President for Finance, Beth oversees the Business Office, Human Resources, Roth Campus Bookstore, Information Technology, Facilities, and Food Service. Campus committee work includes the Finance and Compensation committees of the Board of Trustees and Finance & Business Council. In addition, she is an advisor to the Environmental Sustainability and Blue Zone/Wellness committees. She is also a participant in the Franciscan Way of Life group on campus and a huge Charger basketball fan.
Beth is very active in the community. She currently serves as a board member for Mercy Medical Center Foundation, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Siouxland, Friends of FM 90, and Siouxland Trails Foundation, and recently finished terms on the boards of United Way of Siouxland and Camp High Hopes.
Accounting is Beth’s second career. As a traditional college student, she earned a bachelor’s degree in textiles and clothing from Iowa State University. She then spent twelve years in retail management for a regional specialty clothing store.
Beth resides in Sioux City with her husband, David, who is an engineer for Northern Natural Gas Company. They enjoy bicycling, walking, and working in their lawn and garden.
