Wiig’s competitive cheer and dance background dates back to 2007 when she was a member of both the Morningside cheer and dance teams from 2007-10. She competed at nationals for the Mustangs three-straight years from 2008-10 and she was also a halftime dancer at the 2007 Capital One Bowl in Orlando, Florida.
Wiig recently coached the Sioux City West Dance Team, guiding the team to a first place finish at State in 2015 and they were second twice at State in 2014. She also choreographed a hoopla routine for River Valley High School to help them take third at State. Wiig has also choreographed competition and game routines and conducted clinics for Buena Vista, Sioux City West, South O’Brien High School, Schaller-Crestland High School, Galva-Holstein High School and Storm Lake High School.
She was a dance instructor from 2007-09 at Dancing With Celeste where she taught ballet and tap fundamentals to ages 3-16. She choreographed recital routines, acted as a spotter for gymnastics class and substitute taught all classes. From 2008-2010, Wiig taught fundamentals of cheerleading, stunting and tumbling to ages 3-14 while also choreographing national routines at Take Flight Cheer. At Schaller Crestland High School, Wiig danced for four years and was a three-time team captain and was also in cheerleading for four years and was twice team captain.
