Embark on an annual trip that has included stops at Badlands National Park, Wounded Knee, Wind Cave National Park, Hot Springs Mammoth Site, Custer State Park, Jewel Cave National Monument, Harney Peak and Devils Tower.
Team up with other students to analyze the region's water chemistry, identify local animals and plants, and explore the region's geology.
You'll also hear from local experts. Past speakers have included authors Dan O'Brien and Linda Hasselstrom, cave explorer Jan Conn, Jim Jandreaux, the manager of Bear Butte State Park, and Linea Sundstrom, author of Storied Stone.
This trip can be taken for course credit as an elective, or it may fulfill a general education requirement. Opportunities for 1-credit sections are possible for biology and chemistry majors. Select the units for the course before your trip begins.
