Events and Social Media Coordinator

Coordinate Events | Marketing & Social Media | Ensure Quality Student and Customer Experience

Briar Cliff University is seeking a full-time Events and Social Media Coordinator to sell, lead, market, and coordinate the logistics of the wide range of events on Briar Cliff University’s campus. The Events and Social Media Coordinator will be a 12-month salaried position with benefits. This position will be responsible for ensuring a quality student and customer experience at every Briar Cliff University event.


  • Advertise, quote, and sell our spaces on campus to reach an annual goal.
  • Coordinate with the marketing team to help ensure all events are advertised and available on our website and social channels, both before and during, and after events.
  • Responsible for mascot maintenance, scheduling, and logistics.
  • Manage a team of 5-10 student workers to help bartend, work events, and support retail operations. They will hire, onboard, train, schedule, and manage a detail-oriented staff.
  • Lead and activate committees to plan and manage homecoming, graduation, move-in days, and other cross-campus and cross-department annual initiatives.
  • Assist with retail management, coordination, and scheduling.
  • Maintain adequate inventory and cash control for loss prevention while supervising processes and procedures for all operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a restaurant or retail environment.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10-25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
