Entrance Requirements

  1. Graduation from an accredited high school (or GED equivalency).

  2. Sixteen units of high school work. It is recommended that the high school program include:

    • English, Natural Sciences, Foreign Language,* Social Studies, Mathematics

    • *Two years (eight units) of high school foreign language fulfills the foreign language requirement. The requirement for total number of units and distribution of these units is flexible. Exceptions may be made in certain cases in consultation with the Admissions Advisory Committee.

  3. Students seeking full-time admission must have an 18 on their American College Test (ACT) or the equivalent score on their Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and a 2.0 GPA. [The writing portion on the ACT is optional.] These requirement are waived if the student has been out of high school for five years or more. Students seeking full-time admission but whose test scores or GPA are below these requirements may request their applications to be reviewed by the Admissions Advisory Committee. These students will be asked to submit letters of recommendation.

Application Procedures

An applicant for admission must provide the following:

  1. A completed application for admission available at www.briarcliff.edu or by calling the Office of Admissions.

  2. An application fee of $20 (non-refundable).

  3. An official transcript of high school credits. Provisional acceptance may be granted upon submitting six semesters of high school credits. Final acceptance is contingent upon the receipt of a satisfactory supplemental academic record together with certification of graduation.

  4. Results of the American College Test (ACT) or Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).

  5. A $150 advance payment after the applicant has been notified of acceptance. For students who plan to live on campus, the advance payment is an advance room deposit. For commuting students, the payment is an advance tuition deposit. This $150 deposit is fully refundable until May 1.

  6. A health record.

  7. Specific requirements exist for admission to the programs for radiologic technicians
