All PLUS loans have a 3.00% Origination Fee which is deducted from the proceeds when the funds are disbursed to the school.  PLUS loans are also subject to a 1.00% Federal Default Fee which may or may not be paid by your lender or guarantee agency.  The staff of the Financial Aid Office (FAO) chooses lenders for our lender list based on: commitment to quality service for students and financial aid staff, quality products and electronic processing capabilities.  Parents are not required to use a lender on this list.  Parents considering a lender not on this list should contact the FAO before applying for a PLUS Loan.

Borrower benefits are subject to change. Most borrower benefits require on time payments. If a late payment occurs at any time during repayment the benefit may or may not be recovered. Also, if you choose to consolidate your loans, your benefits may be lost. Be sure to ask your lender for details.
