Briar Cliff Awards Employees with Distinguished Honors
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Briar Cliff University honored 26 employees for their contributions to the University at the Annual Employee Recognition Luncheon, held recently on campus.
At the event, the Emerging Faculty Scholar Award was presented to Regan Murray, Ph.D., director of BCU’s Siouxland Science Research Center and assistant professor of psychology. Gil Ridenour, instructor of theology, assistant director for Campus Ministry and assistant coach for track, received the Bonaventure Award. Ellen Dirks, accounting technician for the business office, was presented with the Distinguished Administrator Award.
In addition, 23 Briar Cliff employees, who collectively have 245 years of service to the institution, were recognized. Among them, more than half have 10 or more years of service to Briar Cliff.
Honored for 35 years of service was Craig Kalicki, Ph.D., professor of mathematics. Recognized for 20 years of service was Brian Hazlett, Ph.D., director of environmental science, professor of biology and director of the Center for Prairie Studies at BCU.
Briar Cliff employees recognized for 15 years of service were Jeff Baldus, instructor of art; Genene Eriksen, associate professor of nursing; Rose Molacek, director of Extended Campus; Heather Nissen, director of Educational Talent Search; Boyd Pitkin, head baseball coach and manager of athletic facilities; and Ruth Schock, OSF, Ed.D., associate professor of education. Honored for 10 years of service to Briar Cliff were David Arens, assistant dean for Student Development; Ellen Dirks, accounting technician for the business office; Anne Garreans, assistant professor of business administration; Patrick Herbst, head coach for men’s and women’s soccer; and JoAnn Peterson, director of Human Resources.
Receiving five-year service awards were Sean Burton, D.M.A., division chair for arts and humanities, The Gilchrist Foundation director of choral activities and associate professor of music; Amanda Cory, assistant director for Educational Talent Search; Paula Damon, director of marketing and communication; Theresa Engle, instructor of education; Jonathon Fields, support specialist for IT; Stephen Gast, director of athletics; William Mangan, Ph.D., vice president for Academic Affairs; Nicholas Nelson, head coach for men’s basketball; Kristen Perez, assistant professor of mass media; and Dean Reynolds, director of Security.
