BCU named among nation's top military friendly institutions
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Briar Cliff University is among the nation’s top “Military Friendly Schools” for 2013, according to G.I. Jobs. The distinction honors institutions of higher learning for achieving excellence in ensuring America’s military service members, veterans and their spouses are successful students.
“Briar Cliff University values military students. We are very grateful to them and to their families for their service to our country,” said Beverly A. Wharton, BCU president. “We are extremely honored to be among the nation’s top military friendly institutions.”
BCU committed to helping U.S. military and their families experience success as Briar Cliff students in a number of ways, including participating in the Yellow Ribbon Program, which makes additional education funds available for qualified service members to continue their education.
The 2013 Military Friendly School was compiled through research and polling of more than 12,000 institutions nationwide. Criteria for the list included efforts to recruit and retain military and veteran students, results in recruiting military and veteran students and academic accreditations.
