Briar Cliff, YMCA partner on initiative for BCU students

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Briar Cliff University and the Norm Waitt Sr. YMCA have joined forces to provide state-of-the art wellness and recreational opportunities for full-time undergraduate students enrolled at Briar Cliff University’s Sioux City campus.

Beginning this fall, BCU students will have full access to the Norm Waitt Sr. YMCA facilities and wellness programming, including the region’s most comprehensive wellness center, a 25-yard fitness pool, family pool, open gym space, extensive fitness classes, and specialized wellbeing and nutrition programs.

“Thanks to our partnership with the Y, we are able to offer BCU students the finest all-around facility and most current wellness-oriented programs in Siouxland,” said Steve Janowiak, vice president for Student Development at Briar Cliff. Janowiak said this is just one example of how BCU is continuously improving the overall Briar Cliff experience, quality and value for our students in and out of the classroom.

“We know BCU students will enjoy our facility, but more importantly they will benefit from our outstanding staff and our ability to customize wellness activities based on student schedules and lifestyles,” said Kevin Engel-Cartie, CEO, Norm Waitt Sr. YMCA. “The Y is all about bringing people together and supporting them in pursuing healthy living, and we look forward to bringing Briar Cliff students together with thousands of our other members to help them in that pursuit,” Engel-Cartie said.

The Norm Waitt Sr. YMCA has been serving Siouxland for more than 125 years. Located on the Missouri River in South Sioux City, the Y is committed to Healthy Living, Youth Development and Social Responsibility.
