Evans Helps Chargers Reclaim Expectations of Success

SIOUX CITY | Kelsey Evans has been part of the transition in the Briar Cliff women’s basketball program.
After all, prior to Evans’ arrival on campus in the fall of 2009, the Chargers had missed out on the NAIA Division II national tournament seven straight seasons, all ending in losing records.
Three straight 20-plus win seasons and three straight NAIA Division II national tournament trips later, including two semifinal appearances, and Briar Cliff is back to enjoying the success that brought the school seven straight national tournament berths from 1996-2002.
“That’s actually a pretty big accomplishment,” said Evans of the three straight national appearances. “
