The keynote speaker for Briar Cliff’s Annual Commitment to Professional Nursing and Pinning Ceremony was Dr. Kay Ryan, coordinator for nursing professional development at Children’s Hospital and Medical Center in Omaha, Neb. Co-founder of “A Time to Heal,” a whole person wellness rehabilitation program for patients who have completed cancer treatment, Dr. Kay holds a doctoral degree in community and human resources and a master’s degree in health education. Among her numerous national awards and honors in the fields of nursing, education and wellness is a visiting fellowship at the National University of Ireland, Galway. Dr. Kay has served on the Board of Trustees for the National Wellness Institute and regularly presents internationally on the topics of happiness, holistic health and collaboration.
