The newly renovated digital media lab boasts the 27-inch iMac computers equipped with the latest creative suite software.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa — The first things you notice inside Briar Cliff’s remodeled digital media lab are the sleek, 27-inch iMac computer screens.
Of course Kristen Perez, assistant professor of digital media and department chair, is even more excited about the software inside those machines. These days, her head is ‘in the Cloud’ — as in the Adobe Creative Cloud, a batch of the most cutting-edge design, photography, audio and video software programs on the market.
"We're one of the first educational institutions to actually have it."

“We were asking Adobe about the Cloud before it was even available for higher education,” Perez said. “Now, we’re one of the first educational institutions to actually have it.”
The best part? The new software updates itself automatically. So, every time journalism and mass communication or graphic design students log in, they’ll have the most up-todate tools at their fingertips.
“Now students will have the latest software that’s available – even more advanced than some of the employers they’ll be working for after they graduate,” Perez said. “That’s a good thing – they’ll be ready.”
