Enactus is a community of student, academic and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to enable human progress. Participating students use business concepts to develop community outreach projects, transform lives and shape a better and more sustainable world.
During the 2012-13 academic year, the BCU team organized a number of projects locally, including designing and hosting a weeklong schedule of activities to connect and support current and aspiring entrepreneurs in the region; applying $75,000 in grant funding to promote environmental sustainability through recycling, education, and technology; and creating the “be Somebody” anti-bullying video contest for local middle school and high school students. Internationally, the team also partnered with Siouxland Tanzanian Educational and Medical Ministries to provide 16 college scholarships and 21 laptops to promote education in Zidisha, Tanzania.
Briar Cliff University is one of more than 500 Enactus programs nationwide.
