In 2006, the library purchased tables, chairs, computer monitors, wiring, and an LCD projection system to create a more formal computer lab/classroom. The purpose of this room is to create a positive learning environment for students when working on assignments and when providing library instruction. In extenuating circumstances the library lab/classroom can be reserved on a one time basis. Permission must be granted by the library director and in his/her absence the reference librarian. The computer lab needs to be available to off-campus students and others doing research. Using the room as a permanent classroom would prevent library instruction sessions and be a deterrent for students trying to find a place to work.
