Professor Rossi was engaged in the private practice of law for 25 years in northwest Iowa and Nebraska, during which time he served as an adjunct faculty member at Briar Cliff. In the fall of 2005, he joined the full-time faculty of Briar Cliff as a professor of Business Administration and Human Resource Management. During his years in practice he handled numerous cases in the fields of employment, business and tort law, including unemployment matters, workers compensation, employment contracts, wrongful and retaliatory discharge cases and discrimination claims under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
In addition to serving as counsel for individuals he has represented Gateway, McDonnell-Douglas Corporation, W.R. Grace Corporation, Autotrol Corporation, Progressive Insurance, The Foreign Candy Company, and many other small local business enterprises.
Professor Rossi is a native of Illinois. He received his undergraduate degree from Illinois State University. After graduation, he worked for a time in the United States House of Representatives as an aide to future presidential candidate, Congressman John B. Anderson of Illinois. Upon leaving Washington D.C., he enrolled in law school at Creighton University where he received his Juris Doctorate in 1982.
