Inductees at the Spring Theta Gamma Chapter Induction Ceremony

Theta Gamma Induction Speaker:
Trudy Pfeiffer
Sigma Theta Tau International was founded in 1922 by six nursing students
at Indiana University. Since that time it has grown to over 400 chapters
world-wide, with over 275,000 members in more than 90 countries.
In 1986, the Briar Cliff University Department of Nursing charted Theta
Gamma Chapter, the 193rd Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International. The
vision of Sigma Theta Tau International is to create a global community of
nurses who lead in the use of scholarship, knowledge, and technology to
improve the health of the world's people.
Theta Gamma Activities
Local meetings are held during the year to encourage nurses to show their
scholarship and research with colleagues. Theta Gamma chapter sends
representatives to regional and national conferences of STTI.

May - Research Conference
In April 2004, we inducted 13 new members and the keynote presenter, Dr.
Ruth Dankanich Daumer, motivated us to renewing Nursing by relishing joy in
service.

2007 Research Conference Presenter, Dr. Nancy Fahrenwald from South Dakota
State University.
May (Wed of Nurses Week) Research in Practice Conference, which includes
research presentations and poster presentations from regional health
organizations and our students' Research Utilization Projects.
