Department of Nursing
has three options to
attain the Bachelor of
Science in Nursing
(BSN) degree:

BASIC BSN
OPTION:
Students who
are

not
already
registered
nurses may
elect
to
enroll at
Briar Cliff for the
entire
four-year
basic BSN
program
leading to
eligibility
to take the
registered
nursing
licensure
exam
(NCLEX-RN).

L.P.N.-B.S.N.
OPTION:
L.P.N.s with
an active
license can
pursue a
program of
studies
leading
to a
B.S.N. and
complete it
within three
additional
years.
-
R.N.-B.S.N.
OPTION:
Registered
nurses
may
pursue a
program of
studies
leading to a
B.S.N.

nursing major is
directed toward:

fostering wholistic
personal and
professional
development

preparing nurses who
engage in reflective
practice related to
health and quality
of life in a variety
of health care
settings

developing nurses
who participate in
ethical decision
making related to
health and quality
of life

foundation for
critical thinking

expanded knowledge
into practice

foundation for
continued learning,
and for graduate and
post-graduate
education in nursing
