Briar Cliff University
Department of Nursing
has three options to
attain the Bachelor of
Science in Nursing
(BSN) degree:

BASIC BSN
OPTION:
Students who
are
not
already
registered
nurses may
elect
to
enroll at
Briar Cliff for the
entire
four-year
basic BSN
program
leading to
eligibility
to take the
registered
nursing
licensure
exam
(NCLEX-RN).

L.P.N.-B.S.N.
OPTION:
L.P.N.s with
an active
license can
pursue a
program of
studies
leading
to a
B.S.N. and
complete it
within three
additional
years.
-
R.N.-B.S.N.
OPTION:
Registered
nurses
may
pursue a
program of
studies
leading to a
B.S.N.

nursing major is
directed toward:

fostering wholistic
personal and
professional
development

preparing nurses who
engage in reflective
practice related to
health and quality
of life in a variety
of health care
settings

developing nurses
who participate in
ethical decision
making related to
health and quality
of life

providing a
foundation for
critical thinking
and for the

evaluation of new or
expanded knowledge
into practice

providing a
foundation for
continued learning,
and for graduate and
post-graduate
education in nursing
