  • The Post-Master’s Certificate Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Program is 24 credits (8 courses) and the Nurse Educator Program is 17 credits (6 courses).

  • Each certificate program is two years in length.

  • Students in the certificate programs will take classes with students pursuing their MSN degree.

  • The Post-Master’s Certificate Programs encompass intentional integration of spirituality, faith and values, a strong clinical/practicum component, and mentoring by faculty who are master teachers and active in clinical practice, consultation, research and professional nursing organizations.

  • Courses are offered in a weekly or bi-weekly evening format.

  • BIOL 550 Advanced Human Pathophysiology

  • NURS 560 Advanced Health Assessment*

  • BIOL 570 Advanced Pharmacology

  • NURS 610 Levels of Prevention and the Young Family*

  • NURS 615 Levels of Prevention and the Family*

  • NURS 630 Levels of Prevention and the Older Family*

  • NURS 640 FNP Practicum*

  • NURS 641 FNP Practicum *

Courses required for the Nurse Educator Certificate Program are as follows:

  • NURS 580 Theoretical Foundations in Higher Education

  • NURS 590 Curriculum and Instruction*

  • NURS 660 Teaching and Evaluating Learning in College of Nursing (Theory based)*

  • NURS 665 Teaching and Evaluating Learning in Colleges of Nursing (Clinical based)*

  • NURS 671 and 672 Teaching in Colleges of Nursing Clinical*

*These courses include a clinical component.
